A GPT Image editor changes a photo from a written instruction. On GetGPTImage you upload up to 4 images, describe the edit and get a new PNG from GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, Flare or GPT Image 2, at 1K, 2K or 4K. It works like the image editing in ChatGPT, as a separate web app, for 16 credits per 1K image.

Edits the GPT Image editor handles well

  • 01

    New backgrounds

Studio gray, a beach at noon or a city at night, with the subject cut in cleanly.

  • 02

    Objects in or out

Remove a stray cup or a crowd, or add a plant, a lamp or a sign where you say.

  • 03

    Words on things

Rewrite a label, a poster or a storefront sign and keep the lettering style.

  • 04

    Outfits and materials

Change a jacket, a sofa fabric or a car color without touching the rest.

  • 05

    Light and season

Turn noon into golden hour, summer into snow, or a flat photo into a lit portrait.

  • 06

    Combine several images

Put the product from one upload into the room from another, with up to 4 references.

How to edit a photo with GPT Image

  1. 01

    Upload the photo

Add a sharp PNG, JPEG or WebP under 10 MB; add more images if the edit combines them.

  2. 02

    Describe one change

Say what to change and what must stay the same, in one or two sentences.

  3. 03

    Generate and compare

Check the result against the original; if something drifted, name it in the prompt and run again.

How GPT Image editing works

GPT Image edits by making a new picture from your photo and your instruction. It is not a brush that paints over pixels: the whole image is drawn again, guided by what you uploaded. That is why it can relight a scene or move an object, and also why small details can shift if you do not ask the model to keep them.

The most reliable edits name one change and list what must stay: “Replace the background with a white studio wall; keep the face, hair, pose and clothes exactly the same.”

GetGPTImage and the ChatGPT image editor

ChatGPT edits images inside a conversation in OpenAI's app. GetGPTImage is a separate web app built only for images: you choose the GPT Image model, the aspect ratio and the size, see the credit price before each edit, and keep every result in your history. It is not affiliated with OpenAI.

Editing prompts that work

Start from one of these and change the details:

  • “Remove the power lines from the sky; change nothing else.”
  • “Put the person from image one in the jacket from image two.”
  • “Make the label read ‘Cold Brew’ in the same font and color.”
  • “Turn the room into evening with warm lamps switched on.”

GPT Image editor FAQ

Is this the ChatGPT image editor?

No. It uses the same family of OpenAI models, GPT Image, in a separate web app. GetGPTImage is independent and not affiliated with OpenAI or ChatGPT.

Why did my edit change the face?

Each edit redraws the whole picture. Add “keep the face exactly the same” to the prompt, use a sharp, well-lit photo and choose GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, which is tuned for precise edits.

Can I select an area to edit?

Not with a brush. Describe the area in words instead, such as “the sign above the door” or “the cup on the left”; the models follow spatial instructions well.

How much does an edit cost?

The same as a new image: 16 credits at 1K, 40 at 2K and 80 at 4K. Failed or blocked edits return their credits.

Which files can I upload?

PNG, JPEG or WebP images up to 10 MB each, up to 4 per edit. Uploads are kept only to run your generations and show your history.
