How to write a prompt for the GPT image creator

Write the way you would brief an illustrator: full sentences, the most important thing first. A useful order is subject, action, setting, style, light and composition.

For example: “A red fox curled up asleep in fresh snow, early morning, soft blue light, close-up, shallow depth of field.” Add exact words in quotation marks when the picture needs text.

  • Subject: who or what the picture is about
  • Setting: where and when it happens
  • Style: photo, watercolor, 3D render, flat illustration
  • Light and color: golden hour, neon, pastel, high contrast
  • Composition: close-up, wide shot, top-down, centered

How do I generate an image like ChatGPT does?

Type a description of the picture, choose a GPT Image model, an aspect ratio and a size, and press Generate. GetGPTImage uses the same family of OpenAI models as ChatGPT's image features.

Which model is fastest?

GPT Image 2.5 Flare is tuned for speed, so it suits drafts and variations. Most 1K images take well under a minute; larger sizes take longer.

How many images can I make at once?

Up to 4 per run. Each image is charged separately, so 4 images at 1K cost 64 credits.

Can it put text in the picture?

Yes. Put the exact words in quotation marks and describe the type, for example “a bold serif headline that reads ‘OPEN LATE’”. Short phrases come out most reliably.
