GetGPTImage is an independent web app for OpenAI's GPT Image models: GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst for precise work, GPT Image 2.5 Flare for speed, and GPT Image 2. Write a prompt or upload up to 4 reference photos, pick one of 8 aspect ratios and 1K, 2K or 4K, and download PNG files. An image costs 16 credits at 1K, 40 at 2K and 80 at 4K; signing up is free and generation uses purchased credits.

What the GPT Image models do well

The GPT Image models read long instructions and reference photos together, so you can make a picture from scratch or change one you already have.

  • 01

    Words that read correctly

Posters, labels, menus and signs come out with legible lettering. Put the exact words in quotation marks and describe the type style.

  • 02

    Edits that follow instructions

Upload a photo, ask for one change and say what must stay the same: the face, the product, the pose or the light.

  • 03

    Long, detailed prompts

Describe subject, layout, colors and style in plain sentences; the models follow detail instead of guessing.

  • 04

    Several references in one picture

Combine up to 4 uploads, such as a product, a backdrop and a style sample, into one image.

  • 05

    Every common shape

8 aspect ratios from 9:16 stories to 16:9 banners, each at 1K, 2K or 4K.

  • 06

The price before you press Generate

The credit cost appears for the chosen size and count, and failed or blocked generations return their credits.

How to use GPT Image online

No API key, no code and nothing to install.

  1. 01

    Describe or upload

Write what you want to see, or add the photos to edit or combine.

  2. 02

    Choose model, shape and size

Sunburst for precision, Flare for speed or GPT Image 2; then an aspect ratio and 1K, 2K or 4K.

  3. 03

    Generate and download

Make up to 4 images at once, download the PNG files you like, or refine the prompt and run it again.

What is GPT Image 2?

GPT Image 2 is OpenAI's image model released in April 2026. It creates pictures from text and edits existing images from written instructions, and OpenAI uses its GPT Image models for image creation in ChatGPT.

GPT Image 2.5 followed on September 8, 2026, in two versions: Sunburst, for precise generation and edits, and Flare, for fast everyday images. OpenAI bills all three at the same token rates.

GetGPTImage is an independent web app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenAI. It runs all three models through a commercial model API, so you can use them in a browser without an OpenAI account or code.

Which GPT Image model should you pick?

All three cost the same here, so choose by the result you need rather than by price. A good habit is to draft with Flare, then render the final image with Sunburst.

  • Sunburst: final images, edits that must keep a face or product, dense text
  • Flare: drafts, quick variations and everyday pictures
  • GPT Image 2: the earlier model's look, or comparing versions

How credits and pricing work

An image costs 16 credits at 1K (about 1 megapixel), 40 at 2K (about 4 megapixels) and 80 at 4K (about 8 megapixels), whichever model you choose; 4 images at once cost 4 times as much. The price is shown before you generate.

Credits come from monthly plans, from $9.99 for 1,000 credits, or one-time packs, from $4.99 for 400 credits. That is roughly $0.14 to $0.20 per 1K image. Failed generations, and prompts the model's safety system blocks, return their credits automatically.

Tips for better GPT Image results

The models reward clear, specific briefs. These habits give more predictable pictures with all three:

  • Lead with the subject, then the setting, style and light.
  • For edits, name the one change and what must stay exactly the same.
  • Put exact words in quotation marks and say where they go.
  • Refer to uploads by order, for example “the jacket from image two”.
  • Explore at 1K, then render the keeper at 2K or 4K.

GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst vs Flare vs GPT Image 2

All three create and edit images at the same sizes and the same price here. They differ in release and in what they are tuned for.

GPT Image questions, answered

What is GPT Image 2?

GPT Image 2 is OpenAI's image generation and editing model from April 2026. GPT Image 2.5, released in September 2026, adds two versions: Sunburst for precise work and Flare for speed. GetGPTImage lets you use all three in a browser.

Is GetGPTImage made by OpenAI?

No. GetGPTImage is an independent web app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenAI. It runs OpenAI's GPT Image models through a commercial model API.

Is GPT Image 2 the same as ChatGPT Images?

OpenAI builds the image features in ChatGPT on its GPT Image models. GetGPTImage is a separate web app: you pick the model, shape and size yourself, pay per image with credits and need no ChatGPT subscription.

Can I use GPT Image 2 for free?

Signing up and the prompt library are free; generating uses purchased credits, from 16 credits for a 1K image. OpenAI's own ChatGPT app also offers image generation, with limits that depend on your plan.

How much does an image cost?

16 credits at 1K, 40 at 2K and 80 at 4K, on any of the three models. The price is shown before you generate, and several images at once cost that much each.

Can I edit my own photos?

Yes. Upload up to 4 PNG, JPEG or WebP images and describe the change. The model makes a new image that follows your instruction and keeps what you ask it to keep.

What happens if a prompt is blocked or a generation fails?

OpenAI's safety system refuses some requests. A refused, failed or cancelled generation returns its credits to your balance automatically, so you pay only for images you receive.

Who owns the images I create?

You may use the images you create for personal and commercial projects, provided your prompts and uploads respect other people's rights and our terms of service.
